Do not underestimate the importance of social media. An argument can be made that this is more important than a website. Writers and musicians are among the most supportive people out there. It has been my personal experience that other writers and musicians will share my posts and articles, therefore getting the word out, way more than friends and family will. Not that friends and family don’t care, they are just not a passionate about our work as we are. Be engaged in the writing community. Regular posts on Facebook, My Twitter, LinkedIn, Google, etc. will keep you and your work visible. Be sure to include links to where the eBook may be purchased. This takes time but time well spent.
On Blip.fm, everyone who is a subscribed user is referred to as a “DJ”. You can give a thumbs up to songs that other Djs post, which is referred to as “giving props”. You also have the option of “reblipping” songs that other Djs post. This simply means that you re-post a song that they have posted. When you reblip someone elses song or if you choose to blip a song yourself, you have the option to type in a brief 160 word message to the other Djs who are following you. The DJ’s who like your musical selections and who choose to follow you are classified as your “listeners”. At any time, you can check to see who is listening to your music.

Another big advantage of using Facebook is important that owners of small and large companies, marketing and distribution network of over 500 million new customers to talk to about their products and services. There is a catch to this property. You should never be your business, network marketing companies, etc. to your Facebook privacy settings in Facebook friends. If you have something to offer, let them know in subtle ways. There could be more information and advice drop here and there, but if it blocks the wall every time you see until you try to sell something.
