As you prepare to leave you want to know that your luggage will last the trip and its easy to transport as well as making sure it holds all your belongings. You could just simple end up with a sore shoulder from lugging an over-sized bag around all day or even bigger problems if you don’t have the right kind of luggage. We have brought together some guidelines to help you in your search for the perfect luggage.
The bag should be sealed and treated. This way, you wouldn’t have to do a lot of things to maintain its good condition. Most high-quality luggage sets only need to be sealed at least once a year so it will continuously look good.
If, however, your dress is good old polyester, with little or no trim, it can stay happily on its hanger in a garment bag for seven months. A very heavy dress might start to pull apart after seven years of this treatment, but polyester is remarkably stubborn stuff. A 100% polyester dress with no appliqued trim can be washed in the washing machine and allowed to drip dry, too.
To help lighten your travel load, consider making a list, outlining in detail what you need, what you can discard along the way, and what you do not need to carry. For example, four- and five-star hotels usually provide a hair dryer, shampoo, soap and bath gels.
To further protect against lost baggage, keep all your important items with you in a carry-on. This includes items such as medicine, makeup, maybe even a camera; anything that you can’t afford to lose or be without. Whenever you check a bag, you must consider that you may not see it again for 24 hours.
For clothing, purchase two or three clothes rods and hang them between the rafters a few feet apart from each other. Organize clothing by season and age then hang them neatly on the rods. Make sure to leave enough room between the rods to move easily between them (much like a retail store). Protect clothing with clear irish dance bags – – I find them really cheap on eBay.
Give yourself a whole day (two if you need to do some carpentry work) for your closet project. Work leisurely and thoroughly and don’t rush. It would be best to place the items you remove from the closet on a chair, table or the floor. If you use the bed to pile your things on and you don’t finish in a day, you will have to move everything off the bed anyway to get to it to sleep!
Designer luggage: Who says you cannot carry your stuff in style? Consider designer luggage to give you that classy look when you enter a luxurious hotel. Heys luggage usually comes in a set of bags sharing a uniform but chic design. The set includes three or four mobile travel bags of different sizes plus one carry-on bag.
