The Red Phone – Management Consulting In 30 Seconds Or Less

I am writing from the perspective of having been recently let go from my day job. For over 16 years, I worked in Chicago’s Loop as a Graphics Specialist for a large management consulting firm. I had survived several rounds of job cuts over the last several years, but they finally caught up with me in January. I would describe my basic reaction as shocked, but not at all surprised.

Wait a minute, there’s more. The same testing was conducted six months later. Guess what? The retention of the material was much higher for the group trained by their own boss.

However, companies that don’t rely on IT also face the same risks. IT firms offer their services to companies like these who don’t have a proper plan in place. By advising them on proper ways to handle their IT, how to make it better and what to do in case they do lose all their data. You’d be surprised at how fast it could even go, some firms are able to do recovery in less than a minute. Although, the more data you have, the longer it will probably take. But wouldn’t it really be great to be assured that you do have protection against these kinds of problems?

Gil’s work career had nothing to do with horses but the international flavor of his job(s) fit well with his goals. In 1979 he was hired by the German company, Mannesmann Demag Corp. in Cleveland, OH as Assistant Controller which afforded him the opportunity to travel regularly to Germany both to work and to ride.

Start your own business. Start by doing business on the side (don’t quit your job)… but, as soon as you can, FIRE YOUR BOSS. It’ll be a favor to her. Make her go out and get her own real job (meaning, start her own real business).

Granted, other Social Media sites give you plenty of space to tout your business, but who are you going to bet on? The first big Social Media site was MySpace. It is now in fast decline, losing members at a torrid pace. Twitter, YouTube and Facebook were hardly a mention a few years ago and are now Social Media’s 800-pound gorillas. But what about a few years from now? Will they suffer the same fate as MySpace, as social networkers migrate on to swankier new sites?

Plot, suspense, an appealing setting, and above all, engaging characters. An opportunity to learn about an occupation is also a plus. Margaret Maron’s series set in North Carolina is a good example-the main character is a judge, and the reader learns a lot about the challenges of her profession. The plots of Jane Cleland’s Josie Prescott antiques mysteries are suspenseful and exciting, and also teach the reader about dealing in antiques.

Advertise. If you’ve got money to spare and if you want to generate more exposure online, I recommend that you invest your money on PPC ads, search engine marketing, paid links, and banner ads that you can post on sites that are often visited by your target market.
