Saratoga Springs, New York, is a historic town that has worked to keep much of the historic architectural style while keeping up with modern culture and ways of doing things. You’ll find lots of parking, though there are lots of others looking to park, too. There are lots of great things to do, but the main attraction is, of course, Saratoga Racetrack. More on that in a minute. In this article, I’m going to tell you some fun things to do in Saratoga Springs that don’t cost much, give you some information about the Saratoga Racetrack, give you some hints about getting around in Saratoga Springs, and then list a couple of web links where you can find more specific information on some of the attractions I’ve listed.
Over the next few decades, the loft concept found its way into American pop culture. It became stylish to live in a loft. A friend/classmate related another story to me of how strong attitudes were back then. She was a cheerleader who lived near the school. Another friend of ours and a cheerleader who was black did not have a ride back to school for the games so she would set on the school steps until game time, sometimes several hours. My one friend would ask her mother if she could come over to her house to wait but her mother refused because she was worried what the neighbors would think. My friend would then make them both a sandwich and go back to school and wait with her on the steps.
